Similar changes week to week are true for concerts in Big Sky Town Center.
No two acts are the same. Here's a short video I shot with what I guess you could call an average early evening crowd for the Halden Wofford and the Hi Beams. We can walk to the park in about five minutes, so we can even go home to pick up a second drink or have a snack. Often, we post a picture on facebook during the break.
After intermission, a large crowd of young adults arrives and usually fills up that area in front of the stage with dancers, but on the 4th of July show, we inevitably have the largest crowd of the year.
This year, we still managed to arrive just before it started and find a nice spot to unfold our Tommy Bahamas chairs right in front of the mixing table, but to give an idea of the crowd size, I walked up by the stage and took a movie of the crowd. Unfortunately, my camera picked up singers of the crowd singing that I couldn't hear live. Trust me when I say the Tiny Band sounded much better in person.
While we hike to Ousel Falls frequently, at least once a year we make a longer trek up the mountainside to Beehive Basin, which is always quite a challenge.
It's fun to start at the bottom in summer conditions and hike through the "seasons" until we reach a snowy winter at the top. This year, we stopped at "Baby Basin" rather than continuing up in knee-deep snow to the apex. Rain clouds were rolling in, and Julie didn't want to get her shoes wet, but in the final analysis, we simply didn't feel compelled to go the rest of the way this time.
Maybe next time.
Here are photos from that epic hike, starting with Julie's pics and followed by mine, as is my new pattern.
As great as it is in Big Sky, I wish our family and friends could be here with us more often to share the beauty and fresh air.
