While it's fun to dream of exotic destinations, in reality most of us only sprinkle a few of those trips into our life times.
Most of our cruises will start closer to home, whether with a drive to the port or a five hour flight to Florida.
Since Julie retired with her bullet-proof bucket list of places to go while we still have the vim and vigor to enjoy them, for which she had been planning for years as she slaved in high pressure negotiations at multi-billion dollar companies, we've been on something of a tear, but the vast majority of our cruises have started close to home, with many of the three night variety.
The pleasure and relaxation derived from those short cruises should not be underestimated.
After all, regardless of where you've gone in the world, haven't you found yourself delighted to be back on board, relaxing with a good book and a cold drink on a sea day? Haven't you been thrilled by world class entertainment on board? Haven't you indulged passionately in gourmet meals, delivered by a polite, tuxedoed wait staff in an elegant dining room?
You can find those same moments cruising to Ensenada from L.A. or to Cozumel from Galveston.
Seven night cruises to the Mexican Riviera and Caribbean put destination cruising into the forefront of vacations.
On the West Coast, we've expanded winter offerings to include amazing Pacific Coast cruises to appreciate beautiful California, and on the Eastern Seaboard, summer to fall includes historic and uniquely lovely New England with Canada.
And don't forget Alaska or longer trips like the Panama Canal and Hawaii, easy to reach destinations which should be on every American's bucket list.
What does it take to get started planning your next great vacation? Simply the decision to go there.
I've been the beneficiary of marriage to a woman whose goal setting is habitual but not as impressive as her determination to reach each of them progressively. I've always been very good at helping people, including Julie, accomplish their goals; that's my special talent. I'd love to help you too.
Better service leads to better trips!
