Villefranche: November, 2008

Villefranche is a beautiful little port on the Cote d' Azur.
Voyager of the Seas tendered passengers to shore from her anchored position in the harbor.

Thanks to our concierge, we had tickets for the first tender, but as is the custom in tender ports, people with early shore excursions booked with the cruise line were taken to shore before us.

We walked along the coastline toward the train station, where we bought roundtrip tickets to both Nice and Monte Carlo, which are in opposite directions from Villefranche, and then we doubled back along a higher path as we waited about twenty minutes for the train to Nice to arrive in the Villefranche station.

I snapped lots of photos of the scenic port town, most of which did not do my subject justice.

Someone could have a very nice time just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

I think in the union card for those creative professions in France you would be required to smoke cigarettes as you wax eloquently about the utter meaninglessness...or meaningfulness...of it all.
