Cruising From New York City

Cunard's fabulous Queen Mary 2 makes New York City her home port most of the year. In addition to the famed Transatlantic Voyages on which you can enjoy the only planetarium at sea as well as complete plays performed by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts from April through November, QM2 spends much of her time visiting the Caribbean from November through April. Perhaps most thrilling of all, you can take QM2 for an extended voyage to Europe roundtrip from New York, combining selected transatlantic crossings with Mediteranean and Northern Europe cruises.

Norwegian also has a strong presence, vising the Bahamas and Caribbean most of the year, and visitng the east coast favorite Bermuda in the spring through fall. Holland America Veendam will visit Bermuda this summer from New York City, giving you the chance to enjoy their famed white gloved service excellence.

Caribbean Princess visits Bermuda and the Caribbean on fantastic voyages, eventually changing course to visit beautiful Canada/New England for the late summer and early fall. Carnival Glory will do shorter trips to Canada throughout the summer this year.

And let's not forget that nearby Port Liberty in New Jersey hosts Royal Caribbean's mammoth Explorer of the Seas, which alternates Bermuda and Caribbean voyages throughout the summer, and sends the elegant Celebrity Summit on weekly voyages to Bermuda. In fact, I think you'd have to agree that the New York City area has so many cruises that you can't keep track of the players without a scorecard....or a Cruise Planner.
