Super Bowl at Sea On Celebrity Eclipse?

Today, once again the Super Bowl arrives with all the pomp, grandeur, junk food, beer and the most watched TV commercials of the year.

For many, like my friends Mike and Linda, it marks the high point of the year, especially when your team happens to be in the ultimate gridiron showdown.  (Sorry, Seahawks.  Better luck next year!)  With football fading out for half a year, Monday can be depressing, requiring a day of recovery.

The shared experience of watching the Super Bowl gives America a chance to not only start friendly conversations about a common event but to also realize that, just like politics, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but there's always next year.

Last February, Julie and I were aboard Celebrity Eclipse for the Super Bowl.  While televisions throughout the ship showed the game, the big event was held in the theater, with balloons in team colors indicating on which side of the room Broncos and Panthers fans should sit to cheer for their team.

All the great Super Bowl snacks like Buffalo wings, nachos, pizza and hot dogs were free for the taking.

And for the price of buying tickets to the game and booking a nice hotel close to the stadium --- not to mention cashing in retirement funds to pay for overpriced stadium snacks --- we took a 2 week Southern Caribbean cruise that kicked off with the Super Bowl.

It was a great game, but with absolutely no letdown when it was over for those on board, because our cruise had just begun.

Next year, why don't you join the fun of a Super Bowl Party on a cruise?

Should you watch the following video, please do so only with the knowledge that Bill Maher seems incapable of being funny without cussing, but he does make a good point sometimes, both intentionally and unintentionally.
