Quest For More of the Mexican Riviera?

If you followed some of the links in the previous article, you already know that the key players (Carnival, Princess, Norwegian and Holland America) on the Mexican Riviera will continue to mix in cruises there with other destinations from So Cal in 2014, but there will be a few unique alternatives that will pop up with the new year. Let's start with something completely different.

Azamara Quest, a beautiful small ship, will take a wonderful 14-night sojourn from Costa Rica to Los Angeles. With long port days and your own butler (even if you book an interior) on board, Azamara offers you an alternative to the big ship experience. In addition to the long port day in Puerto Vallarta and an overnight in Cabo San Lucas, you get the seldom visited Mexican Riviera ports of Huatulco and Manzanillo. Puerto Chiapas is an even less visited Mexican port, which along with the other stops are occasionally visited on Panama Canal cruises. This is the perfect opportunity for the port collector and other experienced travelers to see the region anew, with only a one way flight from L.A.

Quest will then embark on a 12 night cruise that takes you to even more exotic ports on the Mexican Riviera, this time roundtrip from the City of Angels.

And Azamara Quest has one more thrilling opportunity for the Mexican Riviera on her way out of town, with a 14 night voyage that goes back to Costa Rica, this time replacing Puerto Vallarta with the great dual port of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo.

As they say on late night commercials, but wait, there's more! How about an 8 night California Coastal voyage roundtrip from Los Angeles that includes Monterey plus three full days and two nights in exciting San Francisco?

By the way, there are great Panama Canal voyages bookending Quest's California delights.
