Standing on a Whale

French Polynesia, July, 2004
"Are you standing on a Whale, fishing for minnows?"
--- Polynesian saying quoted by Joseph Campbell

Why do some people find so much more joy in life than others?

We all have an equal number of minutes in a day.

It's not just how we spend our time but what we think about it.

When we were children, most of us were happy to be given the opportunity to play where we were. On a hot day, a garden hose was a party.

As we get older, money becomes more of an issue, and certainly when I'm helping someone buy a cruise, I'm hoping they earn a lot more money than what they need to get by. Hopefully, they find enjoyment in their daily work, too.

While we don't need to go on vacation to enjoy our lives, vacations frequently rank as lifetime high points, landmarks that remind us of who we are in our personal evolutions.

No matter what you decide to do, why not make the most of your life?

Fully appreciate where you are standing rather than worrying about the small stuff.
