Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

2010 brought lots of good times and plenty of changes.

Gina and Laszlo gave us our first grandchild, the incredible Emma!

Jay, Amy, Julie and Wes went to New York to experience Emma in person, and she charmed us all with her adorable looks, sweet personality and obvious intelligence.

Because Amy attends college in Connecticut, she's gone back to visit several more times, but the rest of us can at least visit via Skype video calls..

Gina managed to work until the end of her pregnancy, visiting California and other places to give presentations and attend conferences. Her epidemiological research for Columbia University continues to go well. She took the summer off to be with Emma and, following a vacation in Niagara Falls, transitioned smoothly back into the job. Because Laszlo's parents moved to New York to help watch Emma, Laszlo has also been able to return to his teaching position at the Museum School. His mother Ria brings Emma in her stroller to have lunch with Gina.

Amy loves the University of Connecticut and has never looked back on her decision to go there. The Honors Program is like a small liberal arts college embedded into a research university, and Amy still earns straight A's.  She has made lots of close friends, including the three amazing roommates with whom she shares a hard-to-get dorm suite.

Her load is heavy and sometimes feels like too much, but like her mother, she always rises to the challenges. She's an Associate Editor and columnist on the Daily Campus, a paid position that takes up about 25 hours a week in addition to her full time class load. Over the summer, Amy parlayed that into a paid internship at the Daily Breeze, our newspaper in the South Bay.

Despite the more than full load, she still manages to take frequent weekend trips to New York, plus to other New England destinations including Boston, New Haven and Norwalk, CT, often accompanied by her boyfriend Jordan.

We're proud to announce Jay graduated from CSUN with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies in May. He took the summer off, traveling with his girlfriend Katie to Maui for a couple of weeks. While we were in New York visiting Gina, both Sony and Warner Brothers contacted him to interview for jobs. Despite his internships at Maple Jam Records and Universal Music Group, he didn't have quite enough experience to land those jobs,

although he made it through multiple interviews with both before being edged out by well-qualified individuals. He ended up landing a six month, full-time position with Universal Music Group on the strong recommendations of those he worked with while interning. He's hoping that will turn into a permanent position.

Julie and Wes became more accustomed to being empty nesters.

We took a cruise to the Mexican Riviera in April, making our first visits to both Acapulco and Ixtapa in addition to returns to Cabo, PV and Mazatlan.

While that was a great cruise, it was overshadowed by Julie's dream South Pacific vacation in the fall that included Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia and Hawaii.

Scroll down the page now to read more about our vacations.

Julie and Wes also took a lot of weekend trips, including some fun winery and beach escapes with friends as well as visiting family down in San Diego.

We will again finish the year with a Christmas ski vacation as guests of Brooks, Darlene and BG3 in magnificent Big Sky, Montana, and this time, Gina, Laszlo and Emma will be joining us!

Next year looks to be another exciting year. May God bless you and keep you all year!

Love,

Wes and Julie
