Happy Thanksgiving!
God has blessed us all by placing Americans at this unique time and place in history and geography, where we control our own destinies.
If you think life is hard because the price of gas is over $3 per gallon, remember that 125 years ago it would have taken you a week and cost the minimum of a week's work (your time away from the job) to travel a hundred miles with your family, each way.
If the price of health care seems high, consider that 150 years ago it seemed rational to surgeons to chop off the arm or leg of a soldier injured in the Civil War to stop infection from spreading.
If your boss demanded you to stay an extra hour or to check your e-mail on your day off to get a task done, consider that 200 years ago many people were slaves and most everyone else worked from before dawn until after dusk just to scratch out a living.
If your cable goes out just when you're ready to watch the football game on your wide screen TV, consider that such a television wasn't around even a few years ago, and 250 years ago most people weren't even capable of reading, if they had access to a book, and their work dominated their lives to the point where they didn't have time for entertainment anyway.
When you get together for the holidays, why not figure out your next great family reunion on a cruise, a vacation most people in history could have never imagined for themselves and their families?
