Sorrento: November, 2008

After a wonderful morning exploring the well-preserved archaeological site of Pompei quickly stretched into early afternoon, we caught the train to Sorrento later than we planned.

Walking from the Sorrento train station toward town, we stopped in at a couple of beautiful hotels hoping they were still serving lunch at their ocean view restaurants, but they were not.

When we reached downtown, most of the restaurants as well as shops were closed, but we did find a great sidewalk table at Pizzeria Aurora available and enjoyed a great lunch of...you guessed it....pasta and pizza.

While walking around, we passed a poster for “Twilight,” a movie based on a book Amy had read on the trip, so I snapped her picture by the poster. She also finished a second book in the same series during the trip.

Like her mother, Amy devours books in her spare time, including this Thanksgiving break from school.
