The NEW Norwegian Jade
NCL will be introducing a new ship to Europe in the spring to cruise some wonderful 12-night and longer Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries, plus one great cruise in July through the British Isles. Before her European debut, Norwegian Jade will begin cruising under her new name in February with a 13-night Panama Canal itinerary followed by a 13-night Transatlantic cruise.
Some will mistakenly believe that an old tub is seeking new life under the new name, but Jade was actually launched a little more than a year ago as Pride of Hawaii. NCL decided they didn't have quite enough demand for three ships as originally envisioned in Hawaii and has decided to convert Jade from an American flagged ship calling on only American ports to an international ship.
I was aboard Pride of Hawaii for an inaugural cruise in the spring of 2006, and I'll tell you more about the ship on my next post.
