Monarch of the Seas Redux

If you live in Southern California, the three and four night cruises from Los Angeles are convenient, fast escapes from your hectic lifestyle.

In a few short days, you can become totally rejuvenated.

The onboard experience includes gourmet meals, pampering service and wonderful entertain-ment.

You can get up with your best friend and do a karaoke version of "Margaritaville," play trivia games to win valuable prizes like luggage tags, dance in a conga line around the swimming pool, indulge in a full day at the spa, put on a bra in the wildest adult game at sea called "The Quest," pay Dueling Piano players to not sing "Sweet Caroline," dance disco with the Village People and more.

The port days can be relaxing times onboard to enjoy the pools and spa, or whatever kind of adventure you desire.

Want a wild cantina? Papas & Beer has you covered.

How about a movie studio tour? Foxplorations takes you where they filmed much of James Cameron's "Titanic."

Take ATVs through the desert en route to wineries.

The four night trip gives you more ports, including Catalina, which is the perfect place to parasail.

Take a tour of the historic Casino or Wrigley mansion, or tool around the island on a golfcart made for four.

Go back to the ship for lunch or enjoy one of the many restaurants in Avalon.

In San Diego, go to Old Town for more of a Mexico experience. Ladies can shop 'til they drop at Horton Plaza, while men can take a look at the new ballpark and enjoy some hot wings at Hooters. Or get insulted at Dick's Last Resort.

By the end of your cruise, you'll feel like you've been to the far side of the world.
