What is the 4th Largest Cruise Company in the World?

Hint: This cruise line has the largest passenger capacity in the Mediterranean.

Then again, this privately owned company headquartered in Geneva. Switzerland, also has the greatest passenger capacity for all of Europe combined, an honor it holds in South America and Africa as well.

And they've actually been cruising the Caribbean for a decade.

Did you guess MSC?

Mediterranean Shipping Company began sailng in 1675, so it isn't exactly a new company, but most of that time they focused on shipping cargo. You probably will start seeing their logo on cargo containers now that you've been made aware of it.

MSC has become a major force in cruising, and they're approach makes them perfect for multi-generational groups that include people just starting out who need a Bella Experience bargain room as well as some who prefer the Suite life.

The MSC Yacht Club is an exclusive small ship --- with its own private lounges, pool area and luxurious suites --- within the larger ships. All your beverages are covered in all venues (it used to be just within the YC), and there's also a free bar set up in your room.

Yacht Club guests have a private dining room, 24-hour butler service and many more special amenities on board. When you arrive in wonderful ports, there are exclusive shore excursions, including a special YC section at the Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, MSC's new Bahamian private island with 11,000 feet of oceanfront beach.

But maybe you're more health-oriented than luxury-loving. MSC Wellness Experience gives you special access to the spa area.  You're given the complimentary Wellness Package of t-shirt, shorts and towel upon boarding. And because you're going to be working out, MSC includes complimentary daily laundry service of those items. You'll also have complimentary mineral water throughout the ship, including in your stateroom. By the way, if you're in the Yacht Club, you get the Wellness Package, too.

For those who aren't ready for Yacht Club or Wellness Experience, there are also Aurea Experience, which shares many amenities with YC, or Fantastica Experience, which includes things like 12 Beverage Vouchers (to tell you the truth, 2 drinks a day on average is about as much as I can handle anyway) and better room selection than Bella Experience, including the possibility of connecting Super Family rooms (FLA and FLP).

MSC now has 12 modern ships in its fleet, and 11 more are scheduled to be built by 2026, including the new Miami-chic Seaside, customized for tropical destinations like the Caribbean.

In December of 2017, Seaside will arrive in Miami.

That will make three MSC ships in the Caribbean to welcome the New Year, so you can see they are committed to the North American market.

And please note the beautiful new Seaside will make Miami her year-round home port for the foreseeable future.

Here are a few more videos of MSC destinations, starting with the Caribbean, which might be the perfect destination for your next family reunion or other group cruise.
